Happy Groundhog's Day!

I have to admit, I'm not a fan of the Groundhog.

He NEVER gives me good news on when winter's going to end.

So, we're not on the best of terms- and this year doesn't look like it's going to be the year to restore my faith in him.

----------------------------------------------------

On Saturday I stopped in to our local yarn store and caught a part of the spinning demonstration going on there.

I had intended to take my camera and take pictures but, of course, I rushed out of the house without it.

So, instead, here's a video that (very briefly) sums it up.

And, here's one that was kind of like what she was doing on Saturday.

However, the wheel that was used on Saturday is smaller than this one, and is a double-footed one, not a single.

Kind of like this one:
All in all, it was a neat demonstration.

You'll probably think I'm nuts, but it would be so neat (one of these days)
to learn to spin my own yarn!

Pete wants goats, after all, on our future country acreage, so why not? :D

And, when I do, I think this looks like the most time-effective method.

Sounds like it was a cool demonstration. And I don't think you're nuts at all...but then....I maybe not be the sanest person myself! Are we still on for tomorrow's knitting session? :-)

Sure! Tomorrow works great. I signed up for the Sat. hat class too, and the Tues. (starts next week) baby blanket class. Care to join me for either of those too?

Cool...tomorrow at 1:30 then? Maybe the baby blanket class.....I"ll have to see. I want to take a sock class here sometime too, and make that top down kids sweater for Kaylee. So many projects, so little time :-) See you tomorrow!
