Happy Birthday Jesse!

Pete's brother Jesse has his birthday the day after Pete's.
As he was living in Kansas City at the time, we weren't able to have a birthday party for him, so we made up for it on Monday!

Happy Anniversary!

August 16th was Pete's and my 5th anniversary. We went to Omaha to celebrate it, took the camera, and (of course) forgot to take any pictures while we were there! Oh well, it was a nice, relaxing and refreshing weekend.

We enjoyed the zoo, going out to eat, being lazy in the hotel (we didn't see anything we liked at the movie complex, so we played it really lazy by renting one in our hotel room and laying around in our jammies), getting together with our friend Melissa, her two cuties, and her brother Cole, and walking around the Old Market- where we stopped to check out an antiques store (no, he didn't let me buy anything- not even the way cool wooden porch swing for the porch we don't yet have!) and enjoyed some frozen treats from Maggie Moo's (some sort of berry ice cream concoction for him, and frozen raspberry sorbet for me). Again, too bad we didn't get any pictures. I'll have to find a moment to try and take a (good) picture of the two of us to post. :)

Happy Anniversary Pete! I love you- xoxoxo. :D

Birthday Weekend

My Honey turned 26 on August 8!
We gathered at his parents' on Saturday to enjoy a small family birthday party.

Happy Birthday, Pete! I love you. :)

Mmmmm...burgers and 'dogs on the grill.

We had all the best "summer" foods- pasta salad (so pretty, too!), watermelon, sweet corn, chips 'n salsa, tomatoes, fresh sliced veggies, and iced tea.

Jane & Loren- giving us a little ambiance with some hanging candles.

Pete's cousin Molly (on the left), and Gino (on the right).

Pete's uncle Curt.
(Why am I underlining everything? I have no idea, but I can't seem to get it to stop, so we're just going to go with it!) :)

Pete's aunt Patti.

Me (caught in a moment unaware...)

And, of course, we can't forget the doggie family members...

Molly's boxers, Lexi and...

Beamer.

Koa.

And Loren & Jane's Sassy.
(She was less than pleased to have other doggie guests in her yard!)

Mmmm, ICE CREAM!!!

And Jane (wonderful mother-in-law that she is!!!) made the carrot cake he requested.

We brought several toppings to choose from- caramel, hot fudge, fresh raspberries, fresh blackberries, frozen strawberries, or frozen blueberries. YUM!

Thoughts & Prayers

Our thoughts and prayers are with our very newly wed friends, C & B, tonight. They've just discovered that B has cancer that has spread to some pretty vital places. They were just married in May of this year, and our hearts are with them. Please keep them in your thoughts, and especially in your prayers. They're headed for Texas for a clinical trial in hopes of beating it. B has been able to beat this once (a lesser form of it, I believe), so our hopes are with him that the Lord will heal him this time for good. It's such a hard thing for them to go through- I just can't even imagine- but we do have comfort in that, no matter the outcome, B & C both have a faithful walk with the Lord, and can have the comfort and peace that affords.

Love,
Jenni & Pete

Our Current "Baby"...Koa!

Do we have "people children" yet? No. But, does that mean things in my house (such as the great big rug in front of the door for example) stay neatly in their place? Oh, nooooo- not a chance! Koa apparently decided that the (nice and neatly placed) LARGE rug was perfect for "nesting" in. *Sigh.....at least she left the shoes in a neat row, right?

Not to gross you out, but we have quite a few snakes this year...
(ahem, sorry for the reference to snake bowels...)

Welcome to our Blog!

Hello All!

Some of our family & friends are far enough away that we don't get to see them much, and (especially with our little one being *hopefully* adopted soon!) we want to keep in touch. So, we've decided to "blog" it for ya! Go ahead and bookmark us, so you can visit often.

Hope you enjoy! :)

Love,
Jenni & Pete
