Isn't it amazing what you find in the walls of old houses? When we gutted our upstairs we found old horseshoe tournament records from 1956 in the makeshift closet! Plus the whole thing was put together with square nails. The window contractor told us that meant it was built before 1890 when they stopped making such things.
I don't envy you all that plaster and lathe mess. Yuck, the dust. Keep us updated on the progress! It looks good!
