She'll Be Turning One...

in six more months.

But, with that first tooth popping through, I'm starting to see the time begin to "fly" by.

And so, I find myself already thinking towards that first major milestone....

her first birthday.

Call me crazy if you want- I call it being a first-time mommy.

If the next six months go by as fast as these first six have, it'll be here in no time.

Can you guess what I'm thinking the theme will be?

5 pounds 13 1/2 ounces, 19 1/2 inches long.

Headed Out!

Well, I'm headed out to convention today, so no WIP post.

I'll post plenty of pictures when I get back- of the room, of the baby blanket I was suddenly inspired to begin knitting, and (maybe? possibly?) some more cloth wipes or kids' napkins.

*I really do need to get to work on the wipes- we were informed not to be too surprised if little Miss shows up a bit early!*

It's really more of an emerald green- all that sunlight we got today kind of washed out the color.

And, here you can see what the "body" of the hat will look like (kinda).

I'm hoping it will fit your head- I used mine to gauge the size, being the only head I had close at hand, and you know how freakishly small my noggin is...so, I'm hoping that the stretchy-ness of the yarn will cover all sins. :D

Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! A little late by this point, I know, but since you're my sister, you have no choice but to forgive me.......mwahahahahaha!

Birthday Boys and Dogs

First of all, Happy Birthday to my little guy!

3 years old!

And, secondly, a puppy update.

You remember Ceiba?

Yes?

She's huge now.

(Well, relatively speaking.)

And Koa's still her same old self- "Big is Beautiful!"

;)

Poor dear- she needs a good run.

(Every day.)

After about 50 attempts to get a good shot showing how big Ceiba is now compared to Koa, I was forced to settle with this one.

That little brown furball is a blur in all the rest.

And, she still pesters her "big sister" mercilessly.

And, as you can tell, she feels real bad about it.

Happy Birthday Jesse!

Pete's brother Jesse has his birthday the day after Pete's.
As he was living in Kansas City at the time, we weren't able to have a birthday party for him, so we made up for it on Monday!

Birthday Weekend

My Honey turned 26 on August 8!
We gathered at his parents' on Saturday to enjoy a small family birthday party.

Happy Birthday, Pete! I love you. :)

Mmmmm...burgers and 'dogs on the grill.

We had all the best "summer" foods- pasta salad (so pretty, too!), watermelon, sweet corn, chips 'n salsa, tomatoes, fresh sliced veggies, and iced tea.

We brought several toppings to choose from- caramel, hot fudge, fresh raspberries, fresh blackberries, frozen strawberries, or frozen blueberries. YUM!
